Stolen Car Crashes Into Old Glen Park Tile On Broadway
Around 3am Saturday morning Gary Police & Fire responded to a vehicle vs building on the 3900 block of Broadway. On arrival police found a car in a collapsed building (The old Glen Park Tile building) that spilled onto Broadway on impact.
Three people were trapped inside the vehicle which took emergency crews an hour to free the victims from the wreckage. All three occupants were transported to local hospitals in unknown conditions. Broadway was shutdown till after 5am Saturday as heavy machinery came to clear debris and attempts to remove the car.
Radio traffic suggested the car was stolen out of Portage and a rifle & pistol were found inside. Police were not immediately available for comment.
