Indy Man Gunned Down Early Monday Morning
On July 13, 2020 approximately 1:48AM the Gary Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the 200 block of East 16th Avenue, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of the Gary Police. Upon officers arrival they observed a crowd standing around a black male who was lying on the sidewalk. The male was unresponsive at the time and appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds, Westerfield stated. He was later declared deceased on scene by the Lake County Coroner Office. The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Robert Crawford, 33, of Indianapolis.
