Man Charged With Dealing Meth
In the early morning hours of July 7th, 2020, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a cellular 911 call from a female subject whom advised that a vehicle had followed her from State Rd. 2 and I-65 into the Town of Wheatfield.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and were able to locate the vehicle that the female had described stopped at a gas station in Wheatfield. Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle and he identified himself as Tymothy J. Debolt (31 years of age) of Beech Grove, Indiana.
Tymothy J. Debolt admitted to the Deputies that he had been following the vehicle, because he thought that it was one of his “buddies”. During the Deputies contact with Tymothy J. Debolt they determined that he had been adjudicated as a Habitual Traffic Offender and should not have been driving. Furthermore, due to Tymothy J. Debolt’s nervousness and previous record, K9 Alfa and his handler were summoned to the scene to complete an open-air sniff on Tymothy J. Debolt’s vehicle. K9 Alfa alerted for a presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
With this information, Deputies requested and were subsequently granted a search warrant for Tymothy J. Debolt’s vehicle. This search revealed individual baggies that contained a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Tymothy J. Debolt was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Detention Center and incarcerated for the following offenses:
• Dealing in Methamphetamine (Level 4 Felony)
• Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)
• Habitual Traffic Offender (Level 6 Felony)
• Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor)
Arrests and criminal charges are mere accusations. Every person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
