14 Year Old & 50 Year Old Female Shot At Party
On Saturday, 07/18/20 at approximately 8:31PM our patrol officers responded to a Shot Spotter notification of shots being fired in the area of 3723 Parrish Avenue, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera of the East Chicago Police. Officers proceeded to the area where the shots were being fired and located 2 female victims sitting outside the residence.
A 14 yr old female juvenile from East Chicago suffered a gunshot wound to her right hand and a 50 yr old female from Hazel Crest, Illinois suffered a gunshot wound to her upper left chest /shoulder area, Rivera stated. Both victims were transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in East Chicago in stable condition. According to people on scene there was a party at 3723 Parrish Avenue, Rivera said. During the party an argument broke out and a male black subject who was at the party with his girlfriend began shooting. It is unknown at this time if the victims were the intended target. Detectives are currently investigating the case and working on identifying the suspect.
