Gary Police Checkpoints Coming
The Gary Police Department will be holding a sobriety checkpoint the weekend of August 21-23, 2020 in Gary, Indiana. Drivers who are waved into the check point can expect minimal delays. Drivers are encouraged to have their driver license and vehicle registration readily at hand.
Police are urging the community to have a designated driver prior to going out for an evening or use a ride share service. The life you save could be your own. Gary Police have a goal to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the roadways and discourage impaired people from getting behind the wheel. Reducing the number of impaired drivers will reduce the amount of alcohol related crashes and ultimately lives saved. DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER
I have never heard of this being done in Gary before. Wonder if the police will come across things other than alcohol?
