Victim Identified After Fatal Hit & Run Wednesday
Gary Police are currently investigating a fatal vehicle vs pedestrian accident that occurred around 8:30pm Wednesday night on 5th & Cleveland, according to Commander Jack Hamady of The Gary Police. The victim was exiting out of a vehicle parked on 5th when a speeding dark colored sports car with chrome rims hit the man and fled the scene Eastbound on 5th.
The victim has now been identified by The Lake County as Darryl Butkiewicz, 37, of Gary.
