Fatal Accident On 94 At 170th Involving Hammond Woman
Shortly after 6:30pm Thursday, a single vehicle accident left one Hammond female resident dead. The left two lanes were shut down till around 8pm for investigation.
Illinois State Police were called to the Northbound lanes of the Bishop Ford after a Red Impala crashed into the dividing wall. State Police preliminary investigation shows the Impala driving at a high rate of speed on the right shoulder before losing control and veering across all lanes of traffic, coming to a stop on the center median wall. The driver was transported to an area emergency room with life threatening injuries. The driver later succumbed to her injuries.
The victim now identified by Illinois State Police is Kierra A. Marshall Syrshan, 31, of Hammond, IN.
