Two Shot In Valpo In An Isolated Incident
The Valparaiso Police responded to the Mayfield Apartments on the 150 block of Mayfield Ave. at approximately 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, after being dispatched to the report of a female in the area with a gunshot wound, according to Captain E.J. Hall of The Valparaiso Police.
Upon arrival, the female was located and indicated the person responsible for her injury was inside a nearby residence. Police responded to the indicated location, locating a male subject with a gunshot would to his head. It is believed at this time the incident was isolated to the located subjects on scene and there is no known threat to the community, police stated.
Both subjects were transported to Northwest Health Porter, where medevac personnel was responding for assistance with transportation to area trauma centers. Valparaiso Police remain on scene as the investigation is open and on-going.
