18 Year Old Shot In The Arm In EC
On January 21, 2021 at approximately 8:23 p.m. Officers responded to 4942 Magoun Avenue in reference to shots fired, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera of The East Chicago Police Department.
Shot Spotter alerted Officers to a single gunshot in the rear of 4942 Magoun Avenue. When Officers arrived on scene dispatch advised officers that a male gunshot victim is located at 4921 Northcote Ave, Rivera stated.
Officers proceeded to 4921 Northcote Avenue and made contact with the 18 year old male victim of East Chicago. The victim stated he was walking the rear of the 4900 block of Magoun Avenue with a friend when an unknown male approached them and shot him. The victim stated that he and his friend then ran to safety. The Victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the left forearm, Rivera told RNS. He was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in stable condition.
