Aggravated Battery Investigation Leads to Child Pornography Charge

On January 15, 2025, the Michigan City Police were conducting a digital forensic analysis on a cell phone regarding a suspect involved in an aggravated battery investigation.

On January 20, 2025, the detective was reviewing the cellular phone data obtained and discovered 2 photographs of juvenile females with their genitalia exposed. In one of the images, the child appeared to be less than 12 years of age.

According to court documents, the detective was granted an additional search warrant for the cellular phone to now further their search into the crime of possession of child pornography. During the second search of the phone, the detective located approximately 100 images and videos of child pornography. The videos contained children who appeared to be under the age of 12, and who also appeared to be sexually abused. After a full review of the digital media from the cellular phone, the detective located 80 photographs and 181 videos of child sexual abuse material.

Further, according to court documents, the police also located voyeuristic videos and images of 2 female subjects on the device. The videos appear to have been taken without the females’ knowledge.

The suspect, Brandon Wroblewski, was charged on March 12, 2025 with:

Possession of Child Pornography: Level 5 Felony

Brandon Wroblewski is currently lodged in the Laporte County Jail for charges from November 2024 that include:

Aggravated Battery – posing a substantial risk of death: F3 Felony

Criminal Recklessness – shooting a firearm into a building: F5 Felony
