ALERT – String Of Armed Robberies Across Region
Over the last week multiple agencies in The Region have responded to armed robberies to residents in their yards. Region News Source has learned similarities in a recent week of robberies in Lansing, Calumet City, Lynwood, and Munster.
In all these cases the victims described a Black SUV possibly a Lincoln or Jeep with tinted windows pulls up while residents are outside. 2-4 black males jump out armed with a handgun demanding cash and wallets. In a few cases the victims were hit with the butt of the pistol. The most recent incident occurred in Munster on the 9600 block of Elmwood when an elderly resident was struck by a pistol multiple times. Wednesday in Lansing on Williams St and again in Calumet City twice the suspects hit victims we were made aware of. Lynwood also had a similar incident Saturday involving a black suv robbery.
Lansing Police did not respond to inquires last week and Munster Police will be updating RNS Monday. Calumet City Police will be reaching back to us with further information Monday. Check back for updates and remain alert & vigilant while watching your surroundings. Any suspicious persons or vehicles should be reported to the police.
