Attempted Burglary At Munster Home
On January 26, 2020 around 1:45pm Munster Police say a man posed as a Water Department employee and attempted to talk his way into the home of an elderly woman to check for water contamination due to area flooding. The woman refused and the suspect attempted to force entry and damaged the door knob. The suspect fled westbound into Illinois in a newer model Black Jeep with Illinois plates.
The suspect is described as a middle aged Hispanic male with a goatee, approximately 5’11, heavy set, wearing glasses, tan hat, gray jacket, tan pants, and spoke with a Spanish accent.
