Biker Airlifted Sunday Night In Hammond
On Sunday, September 5th, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Hammond Police responded to the intersection of 169th St. and New Hampshire Ave. in reference to an accident, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.
The accident involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle, Kellogg said. Witnesses on scene told RNS the motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on New Hampshire when he went into the intersection of 169th where he was struck. The driver of the motorcycle was flown to a Chicago hospital in critical condition. The driver of the passenger vehicle was arrested pending charges.
No further information was available pending the Prosecutor’s Office acceptance of charges.
