Bishop Ford Shooting Leaves One Injured
Illinois State Police (ISP) officials areĀ investigating a shooting, which occurred on Interstate 94 Southbound at Michigan City Road, at approximately 2:42 a.m., on Thursday, March 26, 2020.
ISP officers responded to the above location, after receiving information from Franciscan Hammond Hospital, advising they had a victim who stated he had been shot on Interstate 94. Upon arrival, ISP officers learned the male driver and sole occupant of the victim vehicle, 36 year old from Dolton, Illinois, sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and transported himself to the hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate the shots were fired from an unknown vehicle near Michigan City Road on Interstate 94. The southbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 94 at Sibley Boulevard were temporarily shut down at 4:51 a.m., during the investigation; with all southbound traffic diverted to Sibley Boulevard westbound. All lanes reopened at approximately 5:28 a.m. The events surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
