Boil Advisory Alert Issued For Lake Station
ALERT: LAKE STATION RESIDENTS. 1-30-20 This is an important message from Indiana American Water. Due to an emergency repair on a water main, customers in: 2600-2700 blocks of Jasper, Jay, Knox, Laporte, Lawrence, Marion, Miami, Montgomery, Morgan, Newton, Orange, Parke, Pike, Putnam, Randolph, and Ripley Streets; 2300-3500 blocks of Old Hobart Road; 2800-2900 blocks of Riverwalk Street; 3100-3200 blocks of Laporte Street in Lake Station experienced a temporary interruption to their water service. Residents who reside in these affected areas will be under a boil water advisory.
Customers in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. This boil advisory is being issued in accordance with Indiana regulations. Any time water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in a portion of a community’s distribution system, a boil advisory must be issued as a precaution to protect customers in that area. This boil advisory is expected to be in effect for approximately 24 hours. You will be notified in the same manner once the boil advisory is lifted.
