Calumet City Police Investigating Two Shootings Resulting In One Death
On December 25, 2023 at approximately 4:00 PM, Calumet City Police responded to the 500 block of Ingraham for the report of a gunshot victim, according to Calumet City Police.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local trauma center where he is being treated for his injuries. Calumet City detectives are investigating this incident.
The second incident occurred on December 27, 2023 at approximately 6:30 PM, Calumet City Police responded to the 100 block of Luella for a ShotSpotter alert, according to Calumet City Police.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 36-
year-old male with a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the identity of the deceased. Check back to this article for updates.
Calumet City detectives and investigators from the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
