Calumet City Police Pursue Shooting Suspects
On September 3, 2020 at 3:49 pm, a Calumet City Police Officer on patrol observed a black sport utility vehicle that was reported stolen in Chicago, according to Calumet City Police. This same vehicle was also wanted in connection with a previous shooting incident in Calumet City. Officers attempted to conduct an investigative stop on the vehicle and it fled from the responding officers. A vehicle pursuit ended in Posen on 147th St justeast of I-57 after the offending vehicle struck another vehicle. The motor vehicle accident resulted in damage to both vehicles but no injuries were reported on scene. The occupants of the fleeing vehicle fled on foot. With the assistance of several other police agencies two individuals were taken into custody. The fleeing vehicle did contain a loaded firearm, police added.
