Cedar Lake Male Charged With Child Molestation
Hammond Police Department was contacted by Indiana Department of Family Services to investigate a report of child molestation that occurred between October 2021 and April 2022, according to court documents. A DCS worker was conducting an investigation as the victim, a 14 year old, had recently given birth to a child.
According to court documents, during an interview, the victim stated she and Kevin R. Osika have been in a relationship since 2019. The victim advised that the relationship was “not legally right” because “he was too old for me.” This relationship started when the victim was 11 years old and Osika was 18 years old.
During the investigation, Osika denied sexual contact with the victim, but later advised there is a 70-75 percent chance that he is the father of the victim’s child.
Based on the dates provided, Osika would have been 19 and the victim 13 when the child was conceived. DNA testing was submitted during this investigation to the Indiana State Police Lab for analysis, and it was learned that the probability of Kevin Osika being the father of the victim’s child was 99.9999%.
On February 12, 2025, Kevin R. Osika was charged with:
