
Cedar Lake Man Faces Felony Drug Charges After Search Warrant Executed
Tanner Christopher Lewis, 28, was charged after authorities executed a search warrant at his Cedar Lake residence following the delivery of a suspicious package.
According to court documents, a United States Postal Service inspector encountered a suspicious parcel addressed to Tanner Lewis at a residence in the 11600 block of West 126th Avenue in Cedar Lake, Lake County, Indiana. A police K9 gave a positive alert on the package, and a federal search warrant was obtained and executed on June 6, 2024. Located in the package was 481.5 grams (over one pound) of pills that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
A controlled delivery of the parcel was conducted on June 9, 2025. Immediately after the delivery, a search warrant was executed on the residence. Located inside was Tanner Lewis, as identified by his own admission.
Located in the kitchen was the parcel of suspected methamphetamine that had been opened. In the living room, officers found nineteen containers of pills with inscriptions that weighed a collective 520 grams and were identified as alprazolam. In the master bedroom, officers recovered a glass vial of a substance that weighed 262.5 grams and field-tested positive for ketamine, along with a black Smith & Wesson handgun.
Court documents state that the amount of the recovered suspected controlled substances is considered per se possession with the intent to deliver under Indiana Code.
Lewis was charged on June 11, 2025. He is currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.

- Dealing in Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony
- Dealing in a Schedule III Controlled Substance, Level 2 Felony
- Dealing in a Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Level 3 Felony
