CEDAR LAKE MAN FACING NEW CHILD MOLESTING AND EXPLOITATION CHARGES AFTER RECENT CONVICTION
Kevin Richard Osika, 23, of Cedar Lake, is charged in Lake Superior Court following an Indiana State Police child exploitation investigation involving online child sexual abuse material and allegations of abuse involving a child.
According to court documents, investigators began the case after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reporting that an Instagram account associated with Osika had uploaded files containing apparent child sexual abuse material. Investigators reviewed the files and confirmed illegal content involving a minor.
Police identified Osika through subscriber records, social media accounts, and law enforcement contacts. Court records state Osika admitted during a recorded interview that he had viewed child pornography and had used the Instagram account tied to the uploads.
Investigators reported Osika also admitted to receiving and sharing numerous files depicting child sexual abuse material involving minors.
Osika has been lodged in the Lake County Jail on previous charges since February 11,2025.

• Incest (Victim Under 16) — Level 4 Felony
• Child Exploitation — Level 4 Felony (3 counts)
• Possession of Child Pornography — Level 5 Felony (3 counts)
Court records show Osika pleaded guilty to Child Molesting (Level 3 Felony) in a separate Lake County case involving a minor under age 14 and was sentenced February 12, 2026 to eight years, with two and one-half years executed in the Indiana Department of Correction, two and one-half years in Lake County Community Corrections, and three years suspended to probation.
