Chesterton Man Charged With Child Molesting And Incest
According to court documents, Matthew Ryan James Coxie, 20, of Chesterton, has been charged in Porter County with multiple counts of child molesting and incest.
Court filings state that investigators opened a case on August 22, 2025, after a 10-year-old child disclosed abuse during a forensic interview at Dunebrook Child Advocacy Center in Michigan City. The child reported that Coxie began inappropriate contact when she was about five years old and that the most recent incident occurred approximately three weeks before the interview.
According to court documents, a Detective with the Chesterton Police Department was assigned the case and documented the child’s disclosures. Coxie was interviewed on August 28, 2025, and admitted to touching the child under her clothing on multiple occasions, stating the conduct “aroused” him. He denied other allegations described by the victim. Investigators confirmed Coxie was over the age of 18 at the time of the alleged offenses, which took place between April 1, 2023, and August 21, 2025, while the victim was under 14.

Coxie was lodged in the Porter County Jail on September 12, 2025.
