Chesterton Man Charged with Child Molesting, Incest in Porter County
A Chesterton man is facing serious felony charges after investigators say he repeatedly engaged in sexual abuse over a period of years.
According to court documents, Mark Anthony Gamboa, 35, has been charged in Porter Superior Court with three counts of child molesting as a Level 1 felony, three counts of child molesting as a Level 4 felony, and one count of incest as a Level 4 felony. Prosecutors allege the abuse occurred between January 2023 and August 2025.
Court records state the allegations first surfaced on August 21, 2025, when a child disclosed to a teacher at Westchester Intermediate School that she had been touched inappropriately. The Indiana Department of Child Services was notified, and the child was interviewed at the Dunebrook Advocacy Center in Michigan City. During the forensic interview, she described incidents of sexual intercourse, fondling, oral sex, and being forced to engage in sexual contact. She also stated she was touched by private parts approximately 10 times.
The affidavit states the abuse began when she was 8 years old and continued until this summer. Investigators said the most recent incident happened inside the family home while her mother was outside.
On August 29, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Gamboa following the prosecutor’s review of the case.
Charges filed on August 29, 2025:
• Child Molesting (Level 1 Felony) – 3 counts
• Child Molesting (Level 4 Felony) – 3 counts
• Incest (Level 4 Felony) – 1 count
The case remains pending in Porter Superior Court. Gamboa is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
