Chicago Heights Man Killed In I-94 Crash
Saturday morning, 10/22/2022, at approximately 6:45 AM, Indiana State Trooper Lawrence McFarrin was dispatched to a crash on I-94 at the 17.6 mile-marker, according to Sgt. Glen Fifield.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Cadillac STS was reportedly driving westbound on the right shoulder, while passing another vehicle, when it struck a parked semi. The semi was broken down due to a mechanical issue, Fifield said. The Cadillac struck the rear of the trailer at a high rate of speed which resulted in the driver of the Cadillac suffering fatal injuries. The driver of the semi was not injured.
The driver of the Cadillac has been identified as Carlos D. Robinson, 31, from Chicago Heights, IL. Assisting at the scene were the following: Porter County Coroner, Hoosier Helpers, Precision Towing, and the Portage Fire Department.
