
Chicago Man Charged In Vehicle Break-In and Foot Pursuit In Munster
According to court documents, Seth O. Wilson of Chicago, has been charged after officers said he broke into a vehicle and fled from police in the early morning hours of September 4, 2025.
Police reported they were first called around 3:12 a.m. to the 8800 block of Oakwood Avenue, where a complainant provided video of a male suspect attempting to enter a vehicle. About an hour later, an officer spotted a man matching the description running near Ridge Road. When approached, the suspect fled on foot through yards and alleys, ignoring commands to stop.
During the chase, an officer deployed a Taser, but the probes were unsuccessful. The suspect was ultimately caught in the front yard of a residence on Miramar Lane and identified as Wilson. Police said a search of his backpack turned up cash and a credit card belonging to a nearby resident, who confirmed her vehicle had been entered and about $55 taken.
