Chicago Man Killed In Lansing Shooting
On July 6, 2021, at approximately 2:20 AM, Lansing Police were dispatched to the 17100 block of Grant Street for a report of shots fired, according to Chief Al Phillips of The Lansing Police.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located a male subject with multiple gunshot wounds, Phillips stated. The male victim, age 34 from Chicago, was treated by Lansing Paramedics and transported to Franciscan Health in Hammond where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as Floyd Steele, 34, of Chicago.
The Lansing Police Criminal Investigations Division and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators are investigating the case. A preliminary investigation reveals this is an isolated incident.
