Crown Point Man Charged With Child Solicitation
Crown Point- According to court documents, Jason Scott Morgan, 29, of Crown Point, has been charged after allegedly engaging in sexual-related communication with a decoy account he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl and arranging to meet at a park.
The investigation began on October 13, 2025, after officers were contacted by Bikers Against Predators, a civilian group that provided chat logs and other evidence. Court documents state Morgan initiated contact through a dating app and continued the conversation after being told the decoy was 13. Investigators said he sent sexually explicit images and discussed meeting the decoy at Collins Park near his home.
When officers made contact with Morgan at his residence in Crown Point, he made a spontaneous statement admitting to the communication. He was taken into custody and placed on a 48-hour hold while the case was forwarded for prosecution.
Officials emphasized that no actual child was involved in the case — the communication was with a decoy account operated by the civilian group.

Morgan is currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.
