DeMotte Man Charged After Bar Disturbance, Threats Toward Officers

A 32-year-old DeMotte man, Ochirnyam Erdenechimeg, is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following a disturbance at a local bar that escalated into threats toward law enforcement officers and a physical struggle.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on January 7, 2026, at approximately 8:23 p.m., an officer with the DeMotte Police Department responded to Holley’s Bar, located at 804 S. Halleck Street, regarding a male reportedly causing a disturbance.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with Erdenechimeg inside the establishment and observed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech. Erdenechimeg admitted to consuming alcohol. Patrons and staff expressed concern regarding his behavior, and he was advised that he was no longer welcome inside the establishment for the remainder of the evening.

The affidavit states Erdenechimeg refused multiple voluntary options to resolve the situation, including speaking with a mental health professional or leaving with a family member. He later agreed to submit to a preliminary breath test, which resulted in a reading greater than .127 BAC. Based on the test result and officer observations, Erdenechimeg was advised that he was too intoxicated to operate a vehicle.

While officers were explaining arrangements for Erdenechimeg to be transported home by a family member, the affidavit states he became verbally aggressive, raised his voice, and walked into Halleck Street, described as a busy roadway, creating a risk to himself, officers, and passing motorists. He allegedly shouted profanities and caused a public disturbance.

According to the affidavit, Erdenechimeg refused lawful commands, raised his hands, advanced toward officers, and continued yelling in the roadway. Officers advised him that his behavior constituted disorderly conduct. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Erdenechimeg actively resisted by tensing his body and pulling away.

During the struggle, the affidavit states Erdenechimeg made repeated verbal threats toward officers, including statements that he would “beat our fucking ass” and that he would “fucking kill us.” The affidavit notes the threats were directed at identifiable law enforcement officers during the performance of their official duties.

Due to continued resistance, a TASER was deployed in an attempt to gain compliance. Erdenechimeg was ultimately secured in handcuffs. Deputies involved sustained minor injuries during the struggle.

Erdenechimeg was medically evaluated by Keener Township EMS and cleared for incarceration. After being cleared, the affidavit states he again made verbal threats toward officers, stating he was going to “fucking kill us.” He was later transported to the Jasper County Jail without further incident.
