Demotte Man Charged with Promoting Prostitution After Alleged Solicitation at Schererville Massage Business
SCHERERVILLE — A 40-year-old Demotte man is facing a felony charge following a police investigation into alleged sexual solicitation at a massage business in Schererville.
According to court documents, on March 24, 2025, the owner of Family Massage Wellness Center contacted police after receiving explicit text messages from a potential client. The man, later identified as Aaron John Braun, allegedly asked if he could get a happy ending with the massage, offered to tip extra, and stated he preferred undraped massage for personal comfort.
After being warned not to show up for the appointment, Braun reportedly became argumentative before ending the conversation.
Police subpoenaed phone records and confirmed the number used belonged to Braun. When contacted by investigators, Braun initially denied knowledge of the incident but later stated he may have made the request. He also reportedly minimized the situation, telling police everyone else does it, so he can as well.
Court documents also state that Braun has a history of similar behavior. On May 17, 2024, officers in Crown Point were called to the American College Massage School after Braun was reported to have acted inappropriately toward a massage therapist and ejaculated unwillingly on the massage therapist’s mid-section before being asked to leave.
Aaron John Braun was charged on June 25, 2025, with Promoting Prostitution, a Level 5 felony.
Braun was lodged in the Lake County Jail on July 30, 2025.
He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
