Dog Perished In Hammond Garage Fire Tuesday
Hammond Fire Department responded to a detached garage fire in the 3300 block of 175th Pl Tuesday morning around 8:37AM, according to Hammond Fire Chief Jeff Smith.
On arrival crews were met with heavy smoke and flames. Unfortunately a dog was found deceased in the garage. The fire is under investigation but a possible space heater plugged into a power strip may be the cause, Smith said.
