Dolton Police Fatally Shoot Suspect
Illinois State Police (ISP) Public Integrity Task Force (PITF) Zone 1 was requested by the Dolton Police Department (DPD) to investigate a fatal officer-involved shooting.
The incident occurred on July 27, 2021, at approximately 1:10 a.m. in the 600 block of Sibley Boulevard, Dolton, IL. Preliminary information indicates Dolton Police responded to a call of a female with a gun threatening employees at a restaurant. Once on scene, officers ordered the female driver and male passenger out of a car. The man complied, but the woman refused. The woman sped off from the scene, dragging one of the officers. The woman, a 19-year-old female, whose last known address was in Homewood, was struck by gunfire from DPD officers and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Two DPD officers were transported to local area hospitals for treatment.
