Driver Killed In Merrillville Crash Tuesday
On June 15th, 2021 at approximately 6:21 PM, Merrillville Police Department, Merrillville Fire Department, and Superior Medics were dispatched to 57th Avenue and Broadway in reference to a motor vehicle accident, according to Assistant Chief Kosta Nuses of The Merrillville Police.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located an unresponsive 21 year old male in one of the crashed vehicles. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene by medics and fire staff, Nuses stated. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. The deceased victim has been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Bryan Leto, 21, of Gary.
