
Driver of Semi Arrested After Alleged Road Rage Incident Involving Firearm on I-65
Indiana State Police Troopers arrested a semi-truck driver following a reported road rage incident that involved the suspect pointing a loaded firearm at another motorist.
On April 25, 2025, Indiana State Police dispatch received a 911 call reporting a road rage incident on southbound I-65 near the 229-mile marker. The caller reported that the driver of a “Pohl” branded semi-truck had pointed a black handgun at them during the encounter.
Troopers were able to locate and stop the suspect vehicle on I-65 near the 188-mile marker. The driver, identified as Frank Thacker, was taken into custody without incident.
Upon searching the vehicle, troopers discovered an empty leather holster on Thacker’s left hip and a loaded, unsecured handgun lying on the bed in the rear of the cab. A full pistol magazine was also located behind the holster. The physical description given by the victims including the suspect wearing black, fingerless gloves and wielding a black semi-automatic handgun matched Thacker’s appearance at the time of the stop.
Thacker now faces criminal charges of: 2 Counts of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon a Level 5 Felony and 2 Counts of Pointing a Firearm a Level 6 Felony.
