Dyer Man Faces Felony Charges After Admitting to Child Molestation
A Dyer man has been formally charged with multiple felony counts following a police investigation into allegations of child molestation involving a young family member.
Colin H. Mauch, now 21, was charged on July 10, 2025, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred between May and August of 2022 at a home on East End Avenue in Dyer.
According to court documents, Mauch admitted during a police interview to unlawful sexual conduct involving a child who was approximately 6½ years old at the time. Mauch was 17 or 18 years old during the alleged incidents. He also acknowledged telling the child not to disclose the abuse, stating he was aware it was wrong due to the child’s age.
Mauch is currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.
