Early Morning Homicide In East Chicago Outside Bar
On October 1, 2020 at approximately 3:27AM shot spotter alerted East Chicago Officers to 4 shots being fired in the area of El Sombrero Bar located at 2001 Broadway Street, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera of the East Chicago Police.
Officers arrived on scene and located one male victim outside on the ground on the west side of the bar. The victim identified as 36 year old Fabian D. Villagomez of East Chicago, according to The Lake County Coroner.
Preliminary investigation shows that an argument began inside the bar that continued outside leading to the victim being shot several times, Rivera told RNS. No other information is being released at this time due to the investigation.
