East Chicago Stabbing Sunday Believed To Be Isolated
On Sunday September 6, 2020 at approximately 3:20pm East Chicago Police were dispatched to a stabbing on the 3900 block of Alder Street, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera. Upon officers arrival they made contact with a female subject that was standing outside and bleeding from the stomach area. The victim was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in serious but stable condition, Rivera stated. Officers were unable to get much information from the victim due to the victim going in and out of consciousness. Fire crews were dispatched to the area shortly after for a clean up of the street due to the amount of blood loss.
Detectives are investigating the case as an isolated incident. The victim is believed to have known offender so there is no threat to residents.
