East Chicago Woman Charged With Two Felonies For Drug Dealing
On Friday, February 7, 2025 East Chicago Police Officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of E 136th & Deodar St, according to charging documents. The traffic stop was initially for not have a functioning brake light and expired plates.
As officers walked up to the car a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. The female driver consented to the search and officers also brought a K9 that made a positive hit for narcotics.
Officers began to search the trunk and located 3 individually wrapped bags of marijuana weighing 453.3 grams, 6 individually wrapped bags of cocaine weighing 172.6 grams, 50 clear plastic bags, a digital scale, $7,000, and a handgun.
The driver now identified as Estrella Vidaurri, 31, of East Chicago denied ownership of the contraband and stated it was her ex-boyfriends.
Vidaurri was charged with:
Count 1: Dealing Cocaine Level 2 Felony
Count 2: Dealing Marijuana Level 6 Felony
