EC Man Charged With Child Molestation / Forcible Rape
On March 18, 2021 East Chicago Police Criminal Investigation Division was notified by the Chicago Police Department about a child molestation that occurred in our city, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera.
Chicago PD advised that a report was filed in their city and their Detectives requested to transfer the case to East Chicago. ECPD Criminal Investigation Division immediately took the case and began an investigation.
On May 4, 2021 Detective Pena filed the following charges against 66 year old Jose Sanchez of East Chicago:
Child Molestation (Level 1 Felony)
Child Molestation/ Forcible Rape (Level 1 Felony)
The victim was an immediate family member of the Defendant. The victims age, name and relationship will not be disclosed to protect the child’s identity, police stated.
