ECPD Enacts Police Reports Via Phone To Limit Exposure
East Chicago Police Department Enacts Reports Via Phone, Assistant Police Chief Jose Rivera shared on social media Friday.
In an effort to reduce the public’s risk of exposure to COVID-19, the East Chicago Police Department will now be accepting police reports via telephone until further notice, Rivera said. Anyone wishing to file a police report should contact 219-660-0000.
The dispatcher will ask you a few brief questions and will ask you to provide your name and a call back number. A police officer will return your phone call to take the report.
As always, in the event of an emergency, please call 9-1-1 for an immediate response.
You can pick up a copy of your report Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at The East Chicago Police Department.
