EEOC Sues Boss Man Tacos in Highland for Sexual Harassment of Female Workers

HIGHLAND – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a federal lawsuit against Bossman Tacos, LLC, alleging the restaurant allowed a hostile work environment at its Highland location, where female servers, including teenagers, were repeatedly sexually harassed by male kitchen staff.

According to the lawsuit, since at least November 2021, the restaurant’s head chef and other male cooks engaged in serious misconduct, including inappropriate touching, sexual propositions, crude jokes, and trapping women in restrooms and walk-in coolers. The EEOC claims management was aware of the harassment but failed to stop it, causing some workers to quit.

The EEOC says this behavior violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The lawsuit (Case No. 2:25-cv-00316) was filed in U.S. District Court in Hammond after attempts to resolve the issue outside of court failed.

EEOC officials emphasized the responsibility of employers to protect all workers, especially teens, from harassment and discrimination.
