Fatal Accident At Lowell Construction Site
Lowell Fire Department and Tri-Creek EMS were dispatched early Tuesday afternoon to a construction site in the new subdivision of Kingston Ridge for a report of a person in a trench in cardiac arrest, according to Lowell Fire Chief Christopher Gamblin.
While enroute with limited information as to the extent of the injuries of the person in trench or if the trench had collapsed, the District 1 Technical Rescue Team was requested to the scene as well, Gamblin said.
Arriving on scene it was confirmed that the person was not trapped but had been struck with an excavator on the site. The person had received fatal injuries from the accident. The scene was turned over to the Lowell Police Department and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The Lake County Coroner has identified the deceased as Zachary Brown, 26, of Wanatah. The manner of death was ruled accidental.
