Fatal Crash Saturday In Porter County
On 12/14/2024, at approximately 6:10 PM, Porter County Sheriff’s Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash with injuries in the area of County Road 50 E and County Road 1050 N (Liberty Township).
Upon arriving on-scene, Officers found a 67-year-old male driver inside his 2010 Chevrolet HHR vehicle, which had struck a tree head on. The driver was unfortunately declared deceased on-scene, police said.
Initial investigation shows, the 2010 Chevrolet HHR was traveling south on CR 50 E and for an unknown reason, left the roadway and struck a tree on the south side of CR 1050 N.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved. The driver has been identified as Eric J. La Brie of Valparaiso, IN.
Porter County Police thanked all the other Agencies that assisted in this matter.
