FBI & Gary Police Offering $20,000 For Conviction In The Disappearance Of Ja’Niyah

The Gary Police Department extended their sincere appreciation to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for their continued partnership and support in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Ja’Niyah McMichael.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for Ja’Niyah’s disappearance. The City of Gary is matching that amount, bringing the total reward to up to $20,000.

Ja’Niyah was reported missing on August 12, 2024, from her residence in the 1900 block of Malcolm X Boulevard in Gary, Indiana. She was last seen wearing black pajama pants, a black hooded sweater shirt, and red and black shoes.

The Gary Police Department encourages anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward and assist in ongoing efforts to locate Ja’Niyah McMichael and bring her safely home.

Anyone with information regarding Ja’Niyah’s whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI’s toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tips can also be submitted to a local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or online at tips.fbi.gov.
