Florida Man and Valpo Woman Charged With Public Indecency After Incident at Portage Menards
A Florida man and Valparaiso woman are facing criminal charges following an alleged public indecency incident in the parking lot of a Portage Menards.

According to court records, Kayla Marie Partin, 23, of Valparaiso, and William Ronald Day, 79, of Florida, were involved in an incident on December 26, 2025, at approximately 1:11 p.m., in the parking lot of Menards.
Probable cause affidavits state the pair were inside the backseat of a white Chevrolet pickup truck parked on the south side of the lot when they were allegedly observed knowingly or intentionally engaging in sexual intercourse in a public place accessible to others.
Both individuals were charged with Public Indecency, a Class A misdemeanor, with charges formally filed on December 29, 2025.
Court documents state that during questioning, Partin told officers she has been seeing Day for approximately two years. She reported that she met Day through her sister, who is dating Day’s son. Partin said she meets Day at the Menards location about every two weeks, where he helps her by purchasing household goods.
Partin referred to Day as her “sugar daddy” and stated the relationship was consensual. When asked whether sexual acts were exchanged for the goods Day purchased, Partin did not directly answer but again stated everything was consensual. She also told officers that Day helps pay for her schooling. According to the affidavit, Partin said Day primarily resides in Florida but maintains a residence in Indiana.
Porter County Dispatch further advised officers that Partin had five active warrants out of Porter County. The warrants were confirmed, and Partin was taken into custody, handcuffed, and transported to the Porter County Jail, where she remains held on the warrants in addition to the public indecency charge.
When officers spoke with Day, he stated that the relationship was mutual and that he has been seeing Partin for several years, traveling from Florida to visit her. He admitted to helping her financially but did not state that the assistance was provided in exchange for sexual acts.
At Partin’s request, Day was allowed to take custody of her dog and vehicle. He was released from the scene and later charged with Public Indecency (Class A misdemeanor). A warrant has been issued.
The case remains pending in Porter County court.
