Garage Fire In Dyer Friday Afternoon
A garage fire was called in by neighbors around 3pm Friday on the 1300 block of Magnolia Ave in Dyer. Large flames and a black smoke header could be seen from a distance as firefighters were arriving on scene. The fire left the detached garage in a pile of rubble quickly and caused damage to the home nearby from the heat.
Neighbors came outside to bring cold drinks and ice for emergency personnel on scene that were dealing with the high temperatures as well Friday. Dyer Fire Department was not immediately available for comment.
Assisting Dyer Fire Department was Munster Fire Department, Superior Ambulance, and Lake Hills Fire Department.
