Gary Man Charged After Police Pursuit And Threats To Officers
Gary- A Gary man is facing multiple felony and traffic charges after police say he led officers on a pursuit through city streets before making violent threats once in custody.
According to court documents, on September 28, 2025, around 2:40 a.m., officers observed a blue Jeep SUV traveling southbound in the northbound lanes on Broadway at a high rate of speed, weaving across traffic. The driver allegedly disregarded red lights at 11th, 13th, and 15th and Broadway, cutting off other vehicles while continuing south. Officers activated lights and sirens but reported they never lost sight of the Jeep before it stopped at 19th and Washington.
Police stated the driver, later identified as David Allen Lowe, 33, initially complied with commands to show his hands but refused to unlock the door. An officer entered through the passenger side, at which point Lowe unlocked the door and was removed from the vehicle. He was taken to the ground, placed into custody, and transported for booking. Officers cited him multiple times for going left of center and disregarding traffic signals, and his Jeep was towed from the scene.
While at the booking area, Lowe allegedly made threats, telling an officer that “once he out on the streets he was going to shoot me.” Court records state Lowe also made threats toward two other officers while at the station.
