Gary Man Charged with Child Molesting and Child Solicitation
GARY — A 31-year-old Gary man is facing felony charges following an investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department into allegations involving a child under the age of 14.
According to court documents, investigators interviewed a child who disclosed that Julian C. Miles engaged in inappropriate contact and conduct between 2017 and 2019. The incidents reportedly occurred while the child was in the care of a relative. The child, who was between six and nine years old during the alleged abuse, described multiple instances of improper touching and exposure to sexually explicit material.
Detectives stated that family member accounts were consistent with the child’s disclosures. Records confirmed overlapping periods of residence and supervision between Miles and the child during the time frame in question.
During the investigation, Miles acknowledged that he goes by the nickname “C.J.” and confirmed that he and his spouse operated online adult content accounts. Detectives reviewed videos and stated the content matched details described by the child.
