Gary Man In Custody After Shooting Ex Girlfriend and Her Boyfriend Monday
On February 11, 2025 Gary Police responded to Save More grocery store located at 921 Broadway for reports of two individuals shot, according to court documents.
On arrival officers found a female and a male shot multiple times who were inside a vehicle in front of Save More. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the victims was subsequently flown out to Chicago due to the seriousness of the injuries.
Detectives learned that the female victim was being stalked by her ex boyfriend. The female advised police that her ex was the suspect who walked up to their car, opened the door, and opened fire on both occupants. Video surveillance obtained by the Real Time Crime Center shows the suspect now identified as Reginald Arnold was in fact the shooter.
Arnold who was already convicted of a Felony in 2010 was not able to own a firearm legally.
Arnold is currently lodged at the Lake County Jail and preliminary charged with:
2 Counts of Attempted Murder – Level 1 Felony
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Violent Offender – Level 4 Felony
