Gary Police Investigating Homicide Inside Gas Station Friday
On November 29, 2024, at approximately 4:06 PM, the Gary Police Department received a call for service at 1000 West 21st Ave, Gary in reference to a male down inside.
Officers arrived on scene and located a male subject down inside a business with a gunshot wound to the body. The male was unresponsive to officers, Gary Police said. Gary Fire Department arrived on scene and advised the male was lifeless and had succumbed to his injuries.
The male was identified as a 19-year-old male from Gary, Indiana. The victim’s name has not been released as of late Friday.
Officers secured the crime scene and contacted the Lake County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, Lake County Crime Lab, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
