Gary Police Respond To Unresponsive Infant Monday
On March 8, 2021 approximately 10:25 AM Gary Police Officers responded to the 5100 block of Georgia Street for a death investigation, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield.
Upon arrival officers discovered an unresponsive infant male and officers immediately began trying to resuscitate the child.
Police cleared intersections to make the route quicker for emergency crews responding, according to witnesses. Gary Officers transported the child to the hospital while continuing CPR.
All efforts were exhausted, but unfortunately the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released at a later time.
