Gary Police Seek Assistance With Bank Robbery Suspect
On January 16, 2020 approximately 3:00 pm the Gary Police Department responded to the 1800 block of West 25th Avenue for a bank robbery at People’s Bank. A male entered the bank and gave the teller a note demanding money and implying a weapon. The cashier complied, gave the male the money from her drawer and he fled out the front door.
Investigators are reaching out to the community for assistance identifying the male. He is said to be a male black of medium complexion and approximately 5’3″ in height. The male is wearing a camouflage bubble coat, camouflage Bulls baseball cap, black pants and white shoes. He was carrying a camouflage book bag. He was last seen running eastbound from the bank towards Grant Street.
